Mount
Kenya University (MKU) Alumni from The School of Hospitality, Travel &
Tourism Management have secured employment opportunities abroad.
The
Dean School of Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management, Ms Jane Kanjuru, the
varsity makes sure that once their students are trained and graduate, they are ready
for employment.
Kanjuru
said the students have made the institution proud as they are in high demand both
locally and internationally.
Fifteen students, from the school of
Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management have secured three year contract
jobs in Europe.
“The
alumni are traveling for their assignments in the departments of reception,
food and beverage service and food production areas,” she said.
She adds that they endeavor
to produce graduates who are job creators.
MKU
is also committed to securing job opportunities whenever they arise both
locally and abroad.
The Dean said MKU produces graduates with a high degree of knowledge,
skills and competence and that is why they are easily able to start their own
enterprises and/or secure jobs.
The
alumni include,Tabitha Nyokabi Mwangi,Mary Nduta Mukundi,Teresia Mutio Musyimi,Irene
Nthenya Kyalo, Maryann Nyambura Nugi,Christine Munjiru Irungu,Mwende Nancy
Timothy,Lilian Tepeyo Kilua.
Others
are Kelvin Ndegwa Mwangi, Mary Akoth Odhiambo, Riny Auma Otieno,Ogla Cheptanui,Joseph
King’ora Nyaga,Cornelius Musila,Fredrick Karuri Kanuthu
