Murang’a County Government has kicked off interaction sessions with residents recruited to benefit from a health programme.
In the interaction session launched by Governor Irungu Kang’ata in Kihumbu-ini ward, Gatanga, the 21,000 households selected in the Sh170 million will be trained on how to select health facilities on their own.
The programme dubbed Kang’ata Care has enrolled the needy members in the community among them elderly and disabled persons.
“The NHIF card has many benefits for Murang’a people who have rights to choose the health facility of their choice and a last-respect package of Sh100,000 to the principal member,” said the governor.
The Governor was accompanied by his deputy Stephen Munania, Assembly Majority leader Francis Kibe Wasarry and Kihumbu ini MCA Moses Gachui.
Kang’ata told the residents that he was working hand in hand with the county assembly for the interest of Murang’a people citing the support to allocate a subsidy kitty to support mango and dairy farming.
” Am working towards uplifting the living standard of Murang’a people as I promised during campaign,” he said.
