The Mountain celebrated The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold
President-elect William Ruto’s win for
Presidency on August 9.
The decision of the court
read by its President Martha Koome sparked celebration in all the counties in
the mountain region that gave Ruto their support. Raila Odinga of Azimio had put a spirited opposition to water down the decision by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to declare Ruto the winner of August 5, General election.
In Murang’a, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Laikipia counties celebrations were rife in the urban and rural areas immediately after the win was upheld by the highest court in the land.
In the Mountain, all the governors
are allied to UDA which was formed by
Ruto after a fallout with Jubilee Party leadership.
