Kang’ata takes over from Governor Iria

Governor Irungu Kang’ata is in
charge of the Murang’a County Government operations after he was sworn into
office.

In a ceremony witnessed by more than
5,000 people, Kang’ata promised to transform the county government operations
starting with the availability of drugs in public health facilities, and timely
payment of salaries to employees.


Speaking at General Ihura Stadium,
Kang’ata who clinched the position on a UDA ticket said within the first 100
days, he will have streamlined the operations pleading for more time on the
appointment of the County Executive Committee Members. 

The governor’s agenda will be on
improved agriculture and bursary to day secondary school learners among
others.

” I will come up with the best
persons who will be in charge of the departments to ensure Murang’a County
glory was restored,” said Kangata disclosing that the former regime
managed to negotiate 1,400 acres of land from Delemonte Kenya Limited.

 Accompanied by his deputy
Stephen Mburu, he said a level four hospital will be established at Kenol
market to serve residents in parts of Kandara, Gatanga, Kigumo, and Maragua.

Other leaders present were
Senator-elect Joe Nyutu, MPs Betty Maina, Dr. Edwin Mugo, Ndindi Nyoro, Edward
Muriu, and Alice Wahome.
