Nyakera team moves to empower women in the villages

Gubernatorial aspirants in Murang’a county have embarked on activities to bring them closer to the people in their vote hunt expedition eying the 587,126 registered votes.
One of the candidates is Irungu Nyakera of The Farmers Party who has established links with the women groups to educate the members of the need for table banking.
Through Nyakera’s running mate, Catherine Mugo more than 700 women groups in the nine sub counties have been introduced to the table banking concept with thousands of shillings benefiting the members.

“My resource as a female Deputy Governor has been visiting and supporting women and youth groups across Murang’a County where many have been supported,” said Mugo.
She said they have bought piglets for some groups with people with disabilities assisted in table banking and welfare groups.
“The aim is to empower the youth and women in their lives.” She said,
Mugo is a former MCA at Murang’a County Assembly who served between 2013 and 2017.
