Murang’a Township electorate have faith in leadership of Habire Chege after he led in a poll by 38.71 percent.
The nominated MCA on Usawa Kwa Wote party garnered 96 votes out of 248 who participated in the poll that lasted for 24 hours.
In the second position is Charles Machigo who managed 32.26 percent after 80 people supported him to try his come back at the Murang’a County Assembly.
Machigo will be vying on the August 9 polls on UDA ticket.
Jubilee party candidate Peter Gakenge Mugo got 45 votes reflecting 18.15 percent.
The incumbent Jecinta Ng’ang’a on Chama Cha Kazi polled 27 votes that translated to 10.89 percent.
In the polls that closed at 9pm , the race was between Habire and Machigo and between 11am and 2pm as they kept on changing positions.
Township ward has 22,990 registered voters.
