Former CS hangs her boots on the Nyandarua gubernatorial seat

 Kariuki resigned from the public service to face Kimemia as ordered by IEBC.

Reprieve to Governor  Francis Kimemia after he narrowly got the Jubilee Party ticket  followed high level intervention.

The former Water Cabinet Secretary Cecily Kariuki was robbed off her win which was handed over to Kimemia eying for a second term after majority of the Nyandarua people had declared to support her bid.

Kimemia is among the high profile Jubilee Party leaders whose fate was put in the hands of President Uhuru Kenyatta  to ensure the 100 percent win of the party, under the Azimio la Umoja initiative.


 After the deal to secure his way to the ballot, Kimemia thanked President Uhuru  for awarding him the ticket.

Kimemia and Kariuki have been in a protracted political battles ahead of the Jubilee party entered into consultations and negotiation meetings  to avoid them running into a nomination process.

The Nyandarua governor was among the Mt Kenya leaders who had missed the jubilee party ticket which were issued by the election board.

Kimemia will face the UDAs Moses Kiarie Badilisha in the August 9 polls.
