Kang’ata endorsed for governor at Mumbi grounds, a field he saved from grabbing

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has launched his bid for Governorship saying he has the capacity and passion to transform the county.

The senator received backing from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) brigade  during the Sh4.5 million  event held at Mumbi Grounds in Murang’a town.


Kang’ata is eying to be the second governor in Murang’a to succeed Governor Mwangi Wa Iria who has completed his two terms and is eying  for Presidency through Usawa Kwa Wote Party.

Those who endorsed him  were UDA leaders  drawn from  the national assembly, and the senate  who included MPs, Alice Wahome (Kandara) Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira) George Kariuki (Ndia) Njuguna Ka Wanjiku (Kiambu) George Koimburi (Juja) among others praised the Senator for his role in the transformation of agriculture and youth empowerment programs.

 The senators were Kipchumba Murkomen, Isaac Mwaura, Aaron Cheruiyot, Johnson Sakaja said Kangata was one of the Deputy President William Ruto’s adherents who was the best suited for the governorship position.

“ Am not a project  for anyone but I know Governor Iria is busy grooming somebody  for the position,” said  Kang’ata adding that Murang’a County Referral Hospital  is not enough  for the one million residents thus needing an additional facility.
