Finally the senator surrenders to police hours after the incident

 Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip
will be arraigned before Nanyuki court to face counts of misuse of firearm and
assault.


 The senator who has been
on the run since the Sunday morning incident surrendered at Nanyuki police
station after 4. 30 pm  where he was
interrogated by the DCI unit.


  The grilling session concerning the shooting
and injuring of Joy Makena at Nanyuki Kanu ground  that occurred at around 1 am, ended at 8.30 pm
when the senator was relocated to an unknown place by the detectives.

 Makena was rushed  for treatment at Nanyuki  Teaching and Referral Hospital  by the good samariantsn, as the police
collected two spent cartridges  in the
ground Laikipia East Police Commander 
John Tarus said during the incident Makena  was shot in the right leg after a
confrontation  with the senator.

“ The police are recording statements on the accounts  before making a conclusion on the charges to
be preferred on the senator,” said Tarus.
