MKU ready to admit teachers for the course

 Relief to TSC after application on professional course  for teachers is declined

Four universities  are now free to admit  teachers for their mandatory  refresher training course.

 The high court  declined to stop the  refresher courses that Teachers Service Commission  recommended for its employees.

Employment  and Labourt Court Judge David Ndiritu  decline the application lodged  by Joseph Karanja an education consultant that intended to halt the commission’s ambitions programme.

In the programe, the commission had selected Mount Kenya University, Kenyatta University,  Riara university and Kenya  Education Management Institute  to provide the professional courses.


 In the programme, the teachers will be required to pay Sh6,000 annually  for five years to complete the course.


 The directive by the commission met resistance from Kenya National Union of Teachers .
