With the politics shaping up, only three presidential candidates
will make it to the ballot.
In 2022, the fore runners are Deputy President William Ruto,
ODM leader Raila Odinga and Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria who are on the
ground mobilizing their support to the ballot.
Political analyst Charles Njoroge says each of the leaders
have been making secret inroads in the constituencies far from them while
others perceived to be interested in the Presidency belief in the
use of emissaries.
Njoroge believes that Iria is working close to keeping the
Mountain votes intact as Raila with Western Kenya and the same as Ruto in
Rift Valley.

“ What is interesting is that each is working to penetrate
the regions that belongs to their political foes , which is a
healthy democracy while guarding their hometurfs,” said Njoroge.
As Ruto and Raila have been holding large
meetings, Njoroge adds that Iria has been meeting the residents individually in
their villages working towards looking at the unregistered voters
and recruiting them as members of Usawa Kwa Wote party.
Iria said he is presently doing the grassroot mobilisations
ready for the next year polls.
“ My strategy is unique as a second term governor who has
learnt the interest of our people which has been ignored by others for
decades,” said Iria when he flagged off his team on a grassroot
mobilization in parts of Nyeri county.
