The government will start compensating farmers with millions of shillings to compensate them after using parts of the lands along Kenol- Marwa stretch  to pave way for the construction of the Great North Road.
Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said at least 1,550 land owners will be compensated as he appreciated their patience  for allowing the project to proceed as the National Land Commission NCL processed payments.
Macharia spoke when he inspected the project funded by African Development Bank (ADB).

” The National Lands Commission has finalised working on the payments set to start on Monday,” said the CS.
The Dual Carriage Way is a critical element in Mt Kenya region following increased population, and will connect  with the Lapsset Corridor in Isiolo.
” The Lapsset  corridor starts in Lamu port  and has several branches that will support national growth,” he said.
