With months left for the general election contest for Laikipia east parliamentary seat is heating with more than 15 candidates lined up.
Those eying the slot held by MP Amin Deddy Mohammed include the former Agriculture and Livestock Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, Laikipia MP Catherine Waruguru, Mwangi wa Sammy, former MP Antony Mutahi.
Others are Michael Waigwa, John Kiama and Antony Rukwaro.
Each of the leaders has formed campaign teams updating their activities in social media platforms in efforts to outmatch others.
Kiunjuri is working under the carpet outlining his political activities through his The Service Party (TSP).
Wagurugu is busy using her office promoting her political activities as Mutahi has remained silent.
Sammy every weekend is on the ground visiting community groups around the constituency outlining his political agenda.
Wa Sammy said he has been on the ground and have listened to the cry of the people he grew up with.
” The constituency need fresh leadership to efforts to led the way to the growth and create employment opportunities,’ said Wa Sammy.
Interestingly, the politicians are scouting for the WhatsApp groups administrators to add them and their battery of supporters to be able to understand the concerns in the villages.
