President Uhuru Kenyatta inspected the construction of the 84 kilometres dual carriage highway to ensure the Sh30 billion is completed in two years.
The Project designed to connect Kenya and Ethiopia is expected to be completed in June next year to open the northern region.
Two months ago, Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia hinted that the President at times conducted an impromptu inspection on the Kenol-Sagana-Karatina- Marwa section.
The project transverse in the counties of Murang’a, Kirinyaga and Nyeri, with a Trauma Hospital constructed by Makutano as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
In the second phase the project will proceed to Nanyuki through Chaka and Narumoro before destined in Isiolo the resort city by 2030 .
