Residents in Ndia have
petitioned Kirinyaga County Government to correct the mess at Sagana sub-county
hospital following unending challenges.

Lack of a perimeter fence has been termed a
major challenge exposing the health workers and the patients to dangers.

Isaac Juma recounts how strangers stary into the
facility from any direction due to lack of perimeter fence.

“We have dogs and livestock
feeding in the compound. This is a great danger as our people are exposed to
risks,” said Juma.

Kirinyaga Jubilee
Party Chairman Muriithi Kang’ara has decried poor security at Sagana sub-county
hospital.

Kang’ara said the
health workers and patients in the hospital are being exposed to extreme danger.

“Since the hospital
has no perimeter wall and animals and people are easily getting in and out
without any control,” he said.

He appealed to
Governor Mumbi Waiguru to intervene as a matter of urgency to the rescue of the
Sagana people.

He spoke after he
received a Covid-19 vaccine at the facility when the health workers recounted
their tribulations to him, especially those in night shifts.

“ The county government
should allocate enough money to fence off the hospital noting that security
of health workers are of much paramount importance to the county,” he said.
