 Exploitation days will soon
be over as a committee has six months to investigate KPLC

 The government has
appointed a task force committee to undertake an in-depth review of and terms
between the power purchase agreements entered into by the Kenya Power and
Lighting Company Limited (KPLC).

The head of public service Joseph Kinyua gazzeted the committee
that will be chaired by John Ngumi following increased complaints from the
citizens on the unexplainable cost of electricity.


 The 16 member committee is
charged to investigate the compliance of the agreements and all associated
agreements with the government policies, legislation, and regulations and
identify what appropriate action should be taken and including the termination
or renegotiation.

Among other responsibilities Ngumi’s led team will recommend
legislative, regulatory, policy, or administrative interventions for the
implementation of the recommendations.

 Also, develop a detailed action
plan for implementing the recommendation made by the task force.

 The members of the task
force are  Kennedy Ogeto, retired
judge  Aaron Ringera,  Dr James Mcfie, Mohamed  Nyaoga, 
Dr Elizabeth  Muli,  Eng Samuel Kamau,  Wanjiku Wakogi,  Eng Isaac Kiva,  Caroline Kittony,  Dr Elizabeth  Rogo.

Others are  Sachin
Gudka,  Eng James Mwangi,  Dr John Mutua,  Anne Eriksson and Yida Kemoli
