Mt Kenya youth perceived to be behind
anti BBI campaigns have made an about turn, abandoning Deputy President William
Ruto’s Camp.
More than 100 youth who were at the centre of
the anti constitutional amendments reforms spearheaded by the deputy president
in the past four days have moved in the interior parts of the region
holding civic education forums.
The youth defected after they were taken
through the civic education in a forum
convened by Principal Secretary Interior and National Coordination Eng Karanja Kibicho
and Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni.
Led by Joseph Chege the youth over the weekend have taken command
in Mt Kenya region where Ruto campaigns
in Isiolo and Ol Kalau towns met strong opposition, by youth chanting pro BBI
slogans.

Chege said the youth leaders felt
satisfied with the contents of the
proposed reforms, as they differentiated with the succession politics played by
politicians out to achieve their political interests.
After the BBI civic education at
Thika Greens last week, the leaders got
facts that enabled them to realize the
way forward. “ The youth have the opportunity to thrive as the document has spelled out their future, “ said Chege adding that they will join other leaders
to popularize the document during the public participation forums.
But we shall not entertain nonsense by those opposing the document, said the youth.
