City Hall: Sonko face ouster as his allies are held in a Coast hotel

The process to impeach Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has started after the majority of the MCAs voted in favour of the motion.

Problems facing the governor started this year after the government-appointed Major General Mohammed Badi to be in charge of Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS).

 His accusations of failure to assent to county budget and frustrating NMS led by General Badi, abuse of office among others.

Sonko in trouble

 In the vote 88 MCAs out of 122 supporter ouster of Sonko, despite efforts, he had made to block attempts moved by the rivals.

In a session chaired by the county assembly Clerk, Benson Mutura saw the MCAs endorsing the impeachment process.

 For the ouster motion to proceed at least  82 members were required to kick off the process.

 The Mountain Journal learned that allies of Sonko termed the action as fraudulent as the process was hurried to serve political interests. …More to follow…
