With
only two weeks to the by-election, Simon Njogu is rated highly as the
influential candidate in Gaturi By- Election.
Njogu a graduate from KCA University and a resident of Kimathi area, is rated highly for his involvement in uplifting
education standard in the locality.
He is also a member of the board of management
of schools around his home place, and has worked with the community leaders in
the initiation of development programmes.
Death
of MCA Kiiru Mwangi Mbembe was an eye-opener to many of the youth in the ward located
in Kiharu constituency, who found it wise to influence the community in
exploring for the best in the future.
“
I have been working with the community in the search of the best, and I hope on
December 15, the residents will back me
to be their MCA,” said Njogu.
Njogu
has been instrumental in pursuing the leaders to give the community good roads
and sustainable water projects.

“Am
one of the people who have been visiting government offices requesting adequate water to serve for domestic and
irrigation,” said Njogu.
He
is one of the closest friends with Water and Irrigation Principal Secretary
Joseph Wairagu who is working to ensure Murang’a county by 2022 will have
enough water.
“The
PS following working with the community leaders has ensured there are enough
boreholes for use by the community,
before accessing piped water,” said Njogu.
Njogu is competing for
the seat with Nelson Kenda of Democratic Party, Rosemary Wakuthie Jubilee Party,
Esther Kamau (People Empowerment
Party (PEP), Electrical Engineer Muchoki Mbuthia of Maendeleo Chap Chap.
Others Chris Kimuhu of National Ordinary People’s Empowerment Party
(Nopeu).
Narc Kenya is backing Zablon
Mwangi, while The Young Democratic Party has settled on former Gaturi councilor
Jacob Murira.
