The ground is set for a battle between Murang’a University of Technology and Technology Primary school
over a parcel of land.
The varsity has erected
beacons on the school land a week after Education CS Prof George Magoha ordered Murang’a
County Director of Education Annie Killu to investigate the matter.
The employees of the university established the beacons with a
warning they will be back to erect a permanent fence.
Technology school is one of the best performing with 1,070
pupils.
A member of the school board of management Martin Wachira protested
action by the university saying the parents will resist move to take over an inch of the school land.
“They have acted in impunity as the matter is under investigation as the university wrote to Jogoo House seeking authority to take over the school,” said Wachira.
Murang’a East Deputy Director of Education Mr
Richard Ng’ang’a said there was a need for the parties to follow the procedure to
resolve the issue.
