Covid 19: Return looted Covid 19 resources, say Bishop

The government should crack whip on those who
looted resources meant to fight Covid 19 outbreak.

Catholic Diocese of Murang’a Bishop James Maria
Wainaina said it was pathetic that resources meant to prevent the spread of the deadly disease had been misappropriated by those entrusted.

“There should be
investigations to get the real culprits not to punish the innocent. And those who
know the grabbed the resources should surrender them back to serve their
purpose,” said the prelate.

He spoke at the Diocesan Headquarters in
Murang’a town when he received tonnes of food from Coffee Management Services (CMS)   for distribution to the needy people.

“The church has
distributed food to over 5,000 people
since the outbreak started, we call upon more people  to contribute towards this noble course,”
said the Bishop.

Charles Wamwea of CMS
said they have channeled food donation
through the churches to reach thousands in Murang’a, Kirinyaga and Nyeri
counties who are in need.

“ The organisation has
respect to the church thus reasons we have continued using its platform to
reach the needy persons in the community,” said Wamwea.
