Interested to improve education in Laikipia during Covid 19 pandemic

Purity Gitonga is a peace ambassador
who has devoted much of her time working with the less privileged in the
society during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Gitonga has moved to share resources
with school going children who have been cut short from accessing their
education due to lack of access to social media.

During this pandemic when millions
of poor children cannot afford internet connection in their homes due to
poverty, Gitonga has been criss crossing the villages donating reading
materials to keep them busy.

Speaking to The Mountain Journal she
said many of the children cannot access social media to continue with learning
yet their parents cannot afford Ipads to simplify their revision of textbooks.

“So far have donated 200 revision
text books online, while another 200 are distributed door to door,” said
Gitonga.

Her quest is to donate more reading
materials to help transform the country.

Her desire for a corrupt free nation
propelled her to establish Taifa Peace Ambassadors, a Non-profit making
organisation that partnered with PLO Lumumba Foundation.

Gitonga is committed to fighting the
vices that have eaten our noble country and the continent of Africa like
Corruption, negative ethnicity and Tribalism.
