Gatanga residents have a sigh of relief after various partners
in the past one month have donated tonnes of food to them to support them
during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Among the donors are Kakuzi limited, MP Joseph Ngugi Nduati, Senator
Irungu Kang’ata and Kimani Mumbi Foundation.
The foundation has donated food items to over 300 BOM and ECD
primary school teachers across the Gatanga constituency to support them after
they have gone without salaries since March.
Speaking at Kirwara, Gatura, Kihumbu-ini and Ithanga zones where
donation was taking place, Mr.Kimani asked TSC to employ BOM teachers as they
are dedicated.
“The teachers despite their problems have remained supportive to
our children,” said Kimani.
Samuel Thuku Mwaura is a physically challenged teacher who
teaches at Gakunyu Primary School special unit and he has been there for
the last one decade and half and he has never been employed by the government
calling upon the government to consider them.
Wambui Njuguna and Veronica Ngina teachers sent a passionate
appeal to the government to employ long serving BOM teachers as they have
interest in educating our children.
