KDF has done alot in Laikipia North

Laikipia North MP Hon. Sarah Korere and Defence Cabinet Secretary Ms  Soipan Tuya discussed security and development priorities in her constituency.

Korere said the discussion with the CS  focused on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the leadership of Laikipia North.

She acknowledged the role played by the National Government and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in supporting communities through security operations, education infrastructure, humanitarian assistance and livelihood interventions.

On security, Korere highlighted the ongoing multi-agency operations under Operation Maliza Uhalifu, particularly around Mukogodo Forest, saying the efforts remain important in restoring peace and protecting lives and property.

She also recognised KDF's contribution to the rehabilitation and construction of school facilities, medical camps, food assistance to vulnerable households and other community support initiatives.

The MP further noted the importance of government interventions targeting water scarcity, access roads and challenges affecting pastoralist communities.
