Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kang’ata has explained that he was driven by truth to write to President Uhuru Kenyatta on the concerns that could lead to rejection of BBI in Mt Kenya region.

The senator speaking at Thuitu AIPCA in Gitugu ward, Mathioya, Murang’a said he was not driven by malice, when he authored a letter to the head of state.

“The President is my best friend and I wrote after I met my close friends  who were passionate about the BBI,” said the senator.

Mathioya MP Peter Kimari  asked the leaders to shun politics and instead be focused on matters pertaining to development.

“ But lets support BBI as it has a lot of gains for Murang’a. If it is rejected we have to lose Mathioya which will be merged with Kangema,” said Kimari.
