Murang’a residents have been warned to expect heavy rains that could cause massive destruction.
County Meteorological Director Paul Murage said  the locality will receive heavy rains, calling on the locals to alert the authorities should they come across cracks on earth.
Releasing a weather forecast , Murage said  the rains   are projected to start  between March 15 and March 20,  to last until the end of May.
” Lower parts of Ithanga will be focused as there is a possibility of increased spillage from Ndaka ini dam which is 96 percent full. All areas in the county will receive high rains and farmers are advised to harvest their crops from the farms to avert destruction,” said Murage.
Three years ago,  there were massive landslides, flooding across the county that left tens  without homes following emerging cracks and sinking of the ground.
In Gitugi village in Mathioya, Mary Njeri  was pulled out from debris by her young sons after she was buried by mudslide that killed her brother in law.
