Kirinyaga Governor Mumbi Waiguru  found it rough after youth chanting slogans in praise of Kirinyaga MP Wangui Ngirichu  chased her out of Gathoge market in Kirinyaga  East sub county.

The youth in a video that has gone viral are heard accusing the Governor for having ignored the area despite being in the office  for five years.

But in another function at Kianjiru market, the governor scoffed at her political opponent saying she will not waste time trading insults with them, as she was interested in development.

Wangui is among the several aspirants interested to contest the governorship slot in the coming general election.

“ Am a responsible leader duty bound to engage in meaningful service delivery  for Kirinyaga people  not sideshow,” she said when handing over music equipment  to youth groups.

She said  her competitor was using youths to heckle in her meeting which is disrespectful of the highest order.

She was in Gathoge  where she was denied entry by the heckling youth where the county government had proposed to  construct a modern market.

She however said that Kirinyaga people are supposed to elect leaders with development track record and not insults asking whether one insults can feed a family or even pay school fees.

“We do not elect leaders with the number of insults and collect them, can insults pay school fees, and development is the only way for a better future,” said the Governor.
