Fourteen Ethiopians are in police custody in Kirinyaga after a vehicle they were using was involved in a road accident.

The police as they moved at the accident scene at Kibirigwi area along Karatina-Sagana road realised there was a language barrier and upon interrogation learnt the 14 were in the country illegally as they were on transit from Ethiopia to Nairobi.
Police commander in charge of Kirinyaga West Martha Ng’etich the group included 10 children aged between 12 and 13.
Two people suspected to the master minds in the human trafficking were also arrested.
“ No one was injured during the accident and they were taken to Baricho police station awaiting to be arraigned in court,” said the police commander.
