We are Ebola free, says DP Kindiki

Kenya is prepared to handle an outbreak of the Ebola disease that has devastated some countries in Central and East Africa though no case has yet been reported in the country.
This is according to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki who says the preparedness of handling the disease and other disasters in Kenya has been enhanced by the new law on disaster management that provides a legal framework for joint mitigation measures between the national and the county government.

Kindiki who spoke after chairing cabinet committee meeting has also allayed fears that the impending el-Niño rains might leave the country food insecure assuring that Kenya has enough food to feed its population and in case of an eventuality of a deficit, the new disaster management law will guide in measures that will be taken to plug it.
