Police intercepts  670 plants of bhang in Kigumo

An operation to weed out narcotic drugs yields fruits in Kigumo after a suspect was nabbed with 670 plants of a substance suspected to be bhang.

Acting on information, the police nabbed  the 58 year old Julia Muthoni Ng’ang’a in Kanyore village  who was booked at Kigumo Police Station awaiting to be charged in court on Tuesday next week .

County Police Commander Kemboi Kimaiyo said the operation  was a major breakthrough  to end the peddling of the narcotic substances in the village.

“The suspect was apprehended on Friday morning and all the 670 plants suspected to be bhang uprooted  and stored as exhibits,” said Kimaiyo commending the police  for their efforts

In another incident, a 29 year old man was admitted at Murang’a level Five Hospital after he attempted to commit suicide through electrocution.

The police said Stanley Kamau Mbugua at around 7.40 am attempted to commit suicide barely opposite the Murang’a County Government headquarters and 100 metres from Murang’a Police Station.

“He sustained multiple injuries on the head, hands and suffered broken limbs and was rushed to  the hospital  in critical condition,” said the county police commander. Ends 

Kimaiyo appealed to the residents to share issues affecting them with friends instead of attempting to commit suicide.
