The coffee market earned Sh 651.4 million after the sale of 16,503 bags of coffee as the peak season comes to an end, less than `19,161 bags of last week.
In the market analysis, the 10 brokers offered 1,439 bags of grade AA, 3,151 grade AB and 1,190 grade C.
The Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) report indicated that Kirinyaga Slopes led with an offer of 4,925 bags that netted Sh 186.6 million, Alliance Berries Limited (Sh 89.9 million), New KPCU 2,290 bags (Sh 94 million),CEBBA 1,049 bags ( Sh 48.2 million) among others.
NCE CEO Lisper Ndung’u says the weekly market registered low volumes of the commodity as the season comes to an end awaiting more production in June.

“ The management of the NCE appreciates the farmers for the continued use of the auction platform in the sale of the coffee,” said Ms Ndung’u.
Twenty one buyers participated in the market , with Ibero Kenya leading with 5,085 bags, Kenyacof 2,330 bags, Global Mark 2,045 bags, Taylor Winch 1,180 bags, among others.
Peter Komore, a coffee and tea value chain expert, says in the past 24 auction sessions, three coffee brokers Alliance Berries, Kirinyaga Slopes, and New KPCU offered the highest volumes.
“ This week Kirinyaga Slopes offered the highest volume, more than Alliance Berries,” said Kamore.
