Relief as coffee earns Sh553 million

Kenya’s coffee market nets Sh 553.1 million following the auction  of 10,494 bags of coffee at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE).

The market reflected a rise in payment compared to last week’s auction of Sh190.5 million, where 12 dealers and  eight coffee brokers participated.

The factories that achieved the best prices are Mugaya factory of Mutira cooperative society of   Sh 50,388 per bag  for the grade AA , followed by Kapsaos Toretmo  Sh 48,837, under the Alliance Berries Limited.

Others are Murang’a based Kangiri Sh47,804 under New KPCU  and Kamuthanga Sh48,320 of United Eastern. 

In the brokers performance, Kirinyaga Slopes led with  Sh 160.3 million after the auction of  3,027 bags,  Alliance Berries Sh133,4 million  (2,479bags),Kinya Sh105,382,176 ( 2,019bags)  CEBBA  Sh10.1 million  (187bags), Meru  Sh 61.9million (1,194 bags). 

Others were New KPCU Sh45,250,571 for  852 bags, Minnesota  Sh 22,657,439for 443 bags, and United Eastern Sh 15,333,755 for  293 bags 

The factories that achieved the best prices are Mugaya factory of Mutira cooperative society of   Sh 50,388 per bag  for the grade AA , followed by Kapsaos Toretmo  Sh 48,837, whose coffee was marketed by Alliance Berries Limited.

Last week, Menu farmers cooperative society in Sirisia, Bungoma achieved the highest price of  Sh50,775 per bag of grade AA brokered by CEBBL.

Others are Murang’a based Kangiri Sh47,804( New KPCU)  and Kamuthanga Sh48,320 of (United Eastern). 

The farmers from cooperatives and estates offered 1,210 bags of AA and 4,253 bags of AB at the auction.

Louis Dreyfus bought 3,171bags, C.Dormans 2,284 bags , Africoff 1,269 bags, Kenyacof 1,103 bags,Sasini 978 bags among others.
