Celebrations mood greeted Murang’a County Assembly after Peter Mbogo was sworn a nominated MCA, replacing the late Mark Wainaina Gicheru.

Mbogo a known figure in Kandara, after he was mentored by Lands and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome and the active coordination of Jubilee and UDA parties in 2017 and 2022 respectively.
Mbogo formerly a personal assistant to Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata since September 2022 was nominated after the IEBC amended the gazette notice.
Speaker Johnson Mukuha said nomination of Mbogo followed an amendment in last week’s Kenya Gazette notice by the IEBC, where the Mark Wainaina was deleted .

“ Mbogo is now a nominated MCA after he was sworn in following the laid down procedures,” said Mukuha.
Outside the assembly, leaders from Kandara led by Lawyer Mbiyu Kamau celebrated the nomination of Mbogo to the county assembly, outlining him as a person who has been involved in the community projects.
Murang’a Deputy Governor Stephen Munania celebrated elevation of Mbogo saying in the position of personal assistant to the governor, he remained focused, dedicated and honest.
“ In the 2022 campaign he coordinated the UDA campaign and activities in Murang’a county while in 2017 played the same role for Jubilee Party,” said Munania.

Assembly Majority Leader Francis Kibe described Mbogo as a leader who attends all the community programmes despite his position.
“ Mbogo comes from Ithiru ward and we are proud that he has been elevated to the position at the county assembly,” said Kibe.
Among the guests were a section of the members of the County assemblies of Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi and Kikuyu Council of elders.
