Claims of manipulation in UDA nominations emerge in Murang’a

 The Mountain Journal

 Outcry in Murang’a on the
sharing of nomination process with claims
two persons from Mombasa and Nakuru have
been listed to be nominated at the county assembly.

 Bitter UDA supporters
hinted that Kiharu had been allocated seven slots out of the 12 reserved for the county with seven constituencies.

Addressing a press conference, UDA leaders led
by Bernard Kuria, Jane Macharia, and Keru Ndichu said the move to allocate
Kiharu more slots in disregard to other constituencies is unfair.

 They pleaded with
President William Ruto to address the
concerns raised as  Kangema and Gatanga
have not been allocated slots.

“ Let the matter be addressed to ensure fairness following resolutions of a meeting which was convened on July 11,”
said Kuria.

Ndichu from Gatanga expressed bitterness with the
unfair allocation citing the constituency had the highest number of UDA members
in Murang’a county.

“ Jokes aside that Gatanga led by Wakili Edward Muriu will miss
a nominated MCA slot,” said Ndichu.

Presently,    Mathioya, Kigumo and Kandara, and Maragua have
each a nominee for the slot,  while
Gatanga and Kangema lack.
