Murang’a Jubilee Branch Committee in a meeting chaired by Frncis Muheria who warned former official Simon Gikuru against purporting to be an official of the branch.
A faction of Murang’a Jubilee Party has distanced itself
from that visited Amani National Congress (ANC) Musalia Mudavadi.
The faction led by Francis Muheria said it was in charge of
the branch activities as it accused factional leader Simon Gikuru of playing
politics when he was dethroned two years ago.
The Branch warned Gikuru against purporting to be the chairman yet it was under leadership of Muheria who was duly elected.
Muheria said the
branch officials were behind him, after he was elected into the position in a
meeting chaired by party secretary general Raphael Tuju at the headquarters.
“The genesis of the matter started after Gikuru took the party officials to the political parties
tribunal the matter was ruled in his
favour. But the matter was taken through the party structures and it was
resolved to change guard in leadership,” said Muheria.
A month ago, Gikuru
held a press conference in Murang’a where he was flanked by two members of the
county assembly.
