Corruption:KEMSA sends three packing

KEMSA board has suspended three top managers at the state medical procurement department,following EACC’s directive in order to allow  for smooth investigations.
Dr. Jonah Manjari, the CEO, Charles Juma, the procurement director, and Eliud Mureithi, the Commercial Director, are suspended with immediate effect.
In their positions, the board has appointed Edward Njoroge Mureithi as acting CEO, Edward Buluma, Procurement director and Dr. George Walukana as the acting Commercial director.
Board Chairman Kembi Gitura said that the appointments takes effect immediately for six months.
“There was a special board meeting to deliberate on a number of issues especially on Covid-19 and the recent happenings at the Authority. We have had to take hard decisions,” said Gitura.
 However, he said it is a suspension and not sacking.
“Take note that this is only a suspension and not stepping aside,” he said.
