Youth in unity against chaos

 

Murang’a
youth came in unity to denounce political violence that rocked Kenol market on
Sunday.

The
youth in their hundreds brought Kenol town to a standstill as they mourned
Christopher Kariuki and Peter Thothi who were killed during an encounter with a
rival gang.

In
the past youth received bloody money from politicians assigned to fight their
rivals on their behalf leading to injuries and deaths.

The
chaos erupted hours before the arrival of Deputy President William Ruto at
Kenol AIPCA church where he presided a harambee in aid of a church development

Mungai a youth leader said the politicians
 
stand accused of mistreating the youth when they seek their influence to
get employment.

The youth have realised the tricks and now we mourn with the families of the
deceased.  We have learnt the mistake and
now none of the youth will be misused for momentary gains,” said Karanja.

Led
by nominated MCA Wambui Njoki, the youth warned politicians to help them secure
employment instead of using them to cause chaos following disagreement with
their rivals.

“The
youth demand investigations to expose the behind the chaos that rocked Kenol
market,” said Wambui.

Murang’a
Deputy County Commissioner Mr Mawira Mungania appreciated the gesture of the
youth to come together for the purpose to promote peace.

work with the youth towards the improvement of the security,” said  Mungania.
