KANDARA: Lawyer Mbiyu Kamau in the parliamentary race

 

From an actor to a lawyer

Kamau
Mbiyu is an aspirant eying for Kandara parliamentary seat.

The human
rights lawyer is one of the key persons who has been involved in educational
programmes in the constituency.

 He joins the league of  Julius Kaberere and Injinia Mwaura who have
declared interest for the parliament seat presently occupied by Alice Wahome.


In the
year 2002, election Mbiyu was asked by the late President Daniel Arap Moi to
stop his political ambitions for Kandara parliamentary seat to assist President
Uhuru Kenyatta in his Presidential campaign.

 Kenyatta the then Minister of Local Government
was Kanu Presidential candidate and Mbiyu was identified as a key campaigner in
Central Kenya region.

 During the Covid 19 pandemic, the lawyer was
in the team that helped the affected persons to get food among other
necessities.

“I have been in Kandara working together with the people. In
2020 am double sure to be the MP to ensure development projects will be initiated
to help the locals,” said Mbiyu.
