Macharia retains Murang’a KTDA BM seat

Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Zone three Board Member
Francis Macharia has retained his seat.

Macharia a tea grower in Kanyenya ini tea catchment garnered 24
votes, defeating his sole opponent Gideon Kiriko who got one vote.

Kiriko is a director at Gatunguru tea factory in Kangema.

 Macharia has represented
interests of growers at Githambo, Kanyenya ini, Gatunguru and Kiru tea
factories at the KTDA board in the past 10 years.

Upon his reelection, Macharia appealed for a round table meeting
between KTDA and Ministry of Agriculture to help understand one another.

“KTDA serves a population of four million people  and generates the largest share of foreign
exchange than any other player in the economy,” said Macharia.
