The Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki has warned DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua that he will not allow him to drag Mt. Kenya Region into the opposition.
Kindiki told off Gachagua, terming his politics as divisive and outdated
“We will milk as many development projects as possible from this government because we elected it wholeheartedly”, he said.
One disgruntled, bitter and selfish leader, he added, cannot bully us to leave this government to satisfy his ego.
“ We will not be cowed by a bully. I ask you the people of Kirinyaga County, the Mt Kenya region and the country at large not to allow anyone to come here and insult your leaders that you freely and democratically elected.
He observed that it is the right of every leader to pursue development for his or her people without any coercion or bullying by anyone.
The DP accompanied by Kirinyaga Governor Annie Waiguru called on Gachagua to respect elected leaders in areas he visits.
“ When in Kirinyaga, respect Governor Wairugu and the local MPs,” said the Deputy President when he commissioned and inspected development projects in Kirinyaga Central Constituency.
The projects included Gatarwa Last Mile Electricity Supply Project which will see 165 households connected to power at Sh 9.5 million shillings and Kagumo-Mununga-Kiamaina-Kianjagi Road and addressed residents at Kagumo Trading Centre in the Constituency.
Other present were Kirinyaga Central MP David Gitari, Nandi Woman Rep Cynthia Muge, among others.
