Karatina was on Saturday brought to a standstill after the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a triumphic entry where he engaged the community charting the way forward to the general election.
Gachagua told Mathira residents to remain focused and in the next election to elect credible leaders with public interests at heart.
“ The Wantam slogan will assist to pave the way to the exit of President William Ruto from power, as I have all the qualities to be the next President of the Republic of Kenya,” said Gachagua.

During the meeting he introduced Peter Githinji wa Tropical as the leaders in Mathira out to champion their needs and interests.
“ This gentleman has the interest of the Mathira people at heart, thus the best for the parliamentary seat when the time comes,” said Gachagua.

Githinji wa Tropical on his part said he will work with the people of Mathira to ensure all their needs are catered for.
“ If elected I will work with the coffee, tea, dairy farmers as well as the businessmen to ensure Mathira gets the best returns from the markets,” said Githinji.
Leaders present included Senators Joe Nyutu, Karungo Thangw’a MP Jane Kihara, Nyeri speaker James Gichuhi. and Mathira MCAs’ among others.
