Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit at Mt Kenya politicians who are working for his downfall saying it was a pity that the locals know what is happening.
The DP said at the election he was elected alongside President William Ruto whom they are working together for the interest of the Kenyans.
Speaking at Komothai Coffee Cooperative Society in Githunguri, Kiambu, appreciated Githunguri MP Gathoni Muchoni and Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa for being dedicated leaders serving the community.
“ I am pleased that Muchomba has remained focused and following the principles of the late MP Authur Magugu who was elected in 1969 and remained a darling to Githunguri voters,” said the DP.
He said he admired the leadership at Komothai Cooperative society that has paid its farmers Sh Sh87 per kilogramme, with a projection of paying Sh110 next year.
“ As persons incharge of spearheading reforms in coffee, tea and dairy and pleased with the changes taking place in the agriculture sector.
The coffee sector has undergone transformation through the reform agenda and MPs should pass Cooperative Bill 2023 and Coffee 2023 which are before the parliament,” said Gachagua.
On Coffee debt waiver he said, the government has allocated Sh7 billion to ease the burden from the growers.
“ After the debts are waived the cooperative societies ;leadership is on notice not to go for loans without farmers knowledge,” said Gachagua.
Others present were Maragua MP Mary Wamaua and Nyendarua Senator John Methu who threw their support to the DP as they hit at the opponents behind the impeachment motion.
