MCA dies in an accident in Thika superhighway

A member of Kiambu county assembly perished this morning after his vehicle rammed into a stationed truck on the Thika super highway.

 Ezra Kibugi Kihara, a nominated MCA died near mang’u high school. Governor Kikani Wamatangi confirmed  the incident as the body was moved to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Kabati, Murang’a.

Preliminary reports indicate that  the MCA vehicle rammed on the truck, before it caught fire during the 5.30 am incident.

Juja Sub County Police Commander Michael Mwaura said the wreckage of the vehicle was towed to Juja Police Station.

” The matter is under investigations and the public will be informed of the outcome,” said Mwaura.

At the same time, the public have raised concern over the accidents caused by trucks stationed in the highways after they develop mechanical failure.

 Jacob Mwangi, a motorist said there are notorious truck drivers who park their vehicles on the road without placing warning signs  to other road users.

“KeNHA  should deal with the naughty motorists that expose others into danger,” said Mwangi.
