Kirinyaga leaders continue to wash their dirty linen in public angering the voters.
The latest was on Monday when Mwea MP Mary Maingi was forced to sit down when she tried to control the programme at the Mwea Research center during the launch of invasive apple snail, an event that was being presided over by the Principal secretary for the state department for crops development Mr.Phillip Kello.
The battle to outshine each other always appears when Senator Kamau Murango and his team of woman representative Jane Njeri and Baragwi MCA David Mathenge who have crisscrossed the county since the 2022 elections.

Three MCAs allied to Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru stood saying Mwea issues should be left to the locals The local leaders should address the issues and sort out their political differences.
When Murango picked the microphone, the MP Maingi said that she is the one controlling the programme since she is the area MP,a thing that angered Murango commanding her to leave-she was abit hesitant but sluggishly, she left to her seat.
“I have said I am not going to let this leader undermine me, I was born in Mwea so any leader that thinks I am from Kirinyaga central, should know that my grandmother is buried in Mwea, my uncle is also buried in Mwea, Kirinyaga central is where my mother got married,” said Murango.
She also maintained being a senator, he was elected by all people including from Mwea-and as a way of knowing the issues that are affecting them, visits and having talks can be the only way to know their problems.
“I have to know whether the roads are okay, whether there is water, and all this I can know when I have visited an area,I should not be limited where to visit”angry Murango responded.

He also said “If the differences between me and Waiguru is due to my push for accountability, let it be,Kirinyaga people have to get development and their monies should not be misused”he added.
“Maingi the same way the voter will ask you about roads, water and anyother project, that is the same question I will get,do not be afraid that you are being overshadowed, let us be there for the voter and not be carried away by power”Murango added.
Murango said that at the senate,he lobbied for additional amount of over Sh 300,000 million to the county kitty, that must be utilized well.
