With a few days remaining to the polling day Samual Kiumbia
27-year-old is campaigning in Laikipia East using his boda boda.
Kiumbia, an independent candidate
and a boda boda rider, is campaigning
for the position alongside heavyweights,
the incumbent Amin Deddy and the former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri among
others.
The
JKUAT University Entrepreneurship graduate who chairs Malindi-Ruai Boda Boda
group in Nanyuki town said he is ready to campaign against the more experienced
politicians and ready to give the voters
an alternative.
He graduated in 2019 from the university and plunged into the boda
boda industry plying the routes between Malindi and Ruai estates in Nanyuki
town.

“If elected I will take Laikipia youth to another level as they are the majority
and with capacity to make a decision for the future,” said Kiumbia.
When
the veteran politicians are using sophisticated sound systems mounted on four
wheel vehicles, he is using a simple speaker mounted at the back of the motorcycle.
“
Am not scared by the resources poured by the other politicians as my supporters who include the colleagues and their customers
are intact in towns and villages,” he said.
Other candidates in the race are Simon King’ori Gachigua (ODM),
Anthony Rukwaro Kanyua (Jubilee (Party) and Philip Ndegwa Mwangi (TND).
Independent
candidates are David Muriithi Maina, Peter Muriu Mwangi and Dr David Wangui
Njoroge.
The
27 year old went through DEB primary school , Nanyuki and later joined Nanyuki
High School before he proceeded to the university.
