of Matara tea factory in Kiambu retained his seat at Kenya Tea Development
Agency (KTDA) Board Member.
During the hotly contested election Eng
Wakimani retained his seat after he polled 22 votes against Kennedy Chege.
Chege garnered
nine votes as Wakimani retained the BM position to represent tea growers in Kiambu
County in KTDA board.
In Kiambu, the factories managed by the agency
are Kagwe, Kambaa, Theta, Mataara and Gachege.
In Murang’a County, Francis Macharia was declared Board Member to represent Zone three.
Macharia a grower affiliated to Kanyenya ini
tea factory polled 24 votes against one and defeated Gedion Kiriko of Gatunguru
tea factory.
Other factories
in Murang’a North region are Kiru, and Githambo in Mathioya and Kiharu
respectively.
