Chaos reigned during burial of road accident victims after a man was restrained from shouting at Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
A youth who sat at the dias met wrath of the villagers at Nyakahura village in Murang’a county after he was cornered by the youth and questioned why he shouted at the MP. Alex Mbote told Nyoro he should not address the crowd before he apologised for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Leaders who included Senator Irungu Kang’ta, MPs Sabina Chege, Muturi Kigano watched as Mbote shouted at Nyoro.
This happened after the leaders were given a chance to address the mourners during the burial of the four victims who perished in an accident along Machakos-Wote road.
During the standoff, St Mary Catholic Parish Father Ngatia was forced to order the coffins be taken to the graveside, as the villagers accused the politicians of disrupting the function.
The chaos reigned as Nyoro s started to speak at the ceremony.
Kang’ata and Chege did not address the crowd. Muturi in his address had warned the leaders against introducing politics in his Kangema constituency.
Two weeks ago, Nyoro and Kandara MP Alice Wahome gave Sh300,000 from President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kigano gave Sh1 million to assist in the burial preparations of the victims.
