Hired
goons descended on a house of a retired Murang’a County Government employee and
demolished it.
The goons backed by armed policemen knocked
off the doors and windows of the three-roomed house located in Kiharu estate.
The
neighbours of Francis Iregi Mwangi a former senior driver at the county government
were blocked by the police from coming close to the house on A claim they were
acting on a court order.
The
goons and the policemen took off after Mr Iregi arrived accompanied by
enforcement unit of the county government.
Iregi
has been living in the house since 1986, before he acquired it from the defunct
Murang’a County Council in 2006.
“ Am not aware of the court order
and this has been my house in over 20 years,
there has not been ownership disputes,” said Iregi as he sought for
intervention.
