Board release funds for road maintenance

 

 Kenya Roads Board has
disbursed Sh59.3 billion to the agencies and county government for maintenance
of highways.

 In the disbursement   for the year
2019/2020, Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) got Sh24.6
billion,  Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) Sh 13 billion and Kenya
Urban Roads Authority (KURA) Sh6.1 billion.

In the allocation the board disbursed  to Kenya Wildlife
Service (KWS) Sh598 million,  County Governments Sh8.9 billion and
Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Sh5.9 billion.

In a circular by Acting Board’s Executive Director Rashid Mohammed
the county governments  will share Sh8.9 billion.

 Counties in Mt Kenya region will share the allocation as
follows

 Embu- Sh112,183,250

Kiambu-Sh267,725,062

Laikipia-Sh118,589,625

Meru      -Sh228,195,188

Murang’a-Sh178,782,844

Nyandarua- Sh138,354,563

Nyeri      Sh153,627,469

Tharaka Nithi Sh111,402,375
