Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndicho says will answer all allegations levelled against him by a section of MCAs.
“We shall reply to every query raised. We are waiting for them to bring it on,” said the Speaker on a motion by MCA Daniel Ngugi.
The draft motion seeks to impeach the Speaker on account of abuse of office, incompetence and violation of the constitution among other grievances.
The drafter says he has lobbied at least 70 members of the Jubilee dominated county assembly out of 92 to sign the motion and hopes it will sail through once tabled.
In the draft, Ngugi accuses the Speaker of occasioning the unprocedural transfer of assembly clerk John Mutie to the executive to serve as a chief officer.
Ndicho is yet to receive the draft motion and added that the county assembly is in recess until the end of this month.
“The assembly is in recess for the whole of August and am not aware of any meeting that approved the motion,” he said.
The MCAs accuse Ndicho of failure to safeguard their interests and welfare, failing to uphold public service values and poor performance as Speaker.
Ndicho threatened to initiate the recall of Ngugi the Kiuu ward representative by his voters, saying it was not clear whether the allegations were targeting the Speaker or members of the service board.
